Because of that day, the heavens will be dissolved with fire and the elements will melt with heat.But based on his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.Therefore, dear friends, while you wait for these things, make every effort to be found without spot or blemish in his sight, at peace.

Then Jeshurun became fat and rebelled— you became fat, bloated, and gorged. He abandoned the God who made him and scorned the Rock of his salvation.

But he will completely destroy Nineveh with an overwhelming flood, and he will chase his enemies into darkness.

He said: The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer,

So now, little children, remain in him so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

Come, let’s shout joyfully to the LORD, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation!

But their“ rock” is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede.

They will fear the name of the LORD in the west and his glory in the east; for he will come like a rushing stream driven by the wind of the LORD.

The LORD lives— blessed be my rock! God, the rock of my salvation, is exalted.

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous are secure forever.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken; it remains forever.The mountains surround Jerusalem and the LORD surrounds his people, both now and forever.

Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to you immediately. When great floodwaters come, they will not reach him.

Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting?The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas,though its water roars and foams and the mountains quake with its turmoil. Selah

strengthening the disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith and by telling them,“ It is necessary to go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.”

There is no one holy like the LORD. There is no one besides you! And there is no rock like our God.

This is the second death, the lake of fire.And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
