凡就我聞我言而行之者、我示爾將何以譬之、

人來從我、聞吾道而踐履之者、若斯之人、果何所似乎？吾實語爾、

“ Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice– I will show you what he is like:

Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like.

But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror.For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was.But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works— this person will be blessed in what he does.

He said,“ Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash.”

So it is sin to know the good and yet not do it.

eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;but wrath and anger to those who are self-seeking and disobey the truth while obeying unrighteousness.There will be affliction and distress for every human being who does evil, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek;but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.

“ If you love me, you will keep my commands.

After he was perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

As you come to him, a living stone— rejected by people but chosen and honored by God—

The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and will reveal myself to him.”Judas( not Iscariot) said to him,“ Lord, how is it you’re going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”Jesus answered,“ If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.The one who doesn’t love me will not keep my words. The word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me.

If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters— yes, and even his own life— he cannot be my disciple.

“ Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates.

Pay attention and come to me; listen, so that you will live. I will make a permanent covenant with you on the basis of the faithful kindnesses of David.

If you know that he is righteous, you know this as well: Everyone who does what is right has been born of him.

“ As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love.If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.“ I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.“ This is my command: Love one another as I have loved you.No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.You are my friends if you do what I command you.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.It is written in the Prophets: And they will all be taught by God. Everyone who has listened to and learned from the Father comes to me—

Still other seed fell on good ground; when it grew up, it produced fruit: a hundred times what was sown.” As he said this, he called out,“ Let anyone who has ears to hear listen.”

“ Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me.

While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!”

“ I already told you,” he said,“ and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t want to become his disciples too, do you?”They ridiculed him:“ You’re that man’s disciple, but we’re Moses’s disciples.

Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble.

But you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.

And the seed on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy. Having no root, these believe for a while and fall away in a time of testing.

“ I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them.“ No one who comes to me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in me will ever be thirsty again.

Then the Jews said,“ Now we know you have a demon. Abraham died and so did the prophets. You say,‘ If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.’
