A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

A good man says good things. These come from the good that is stored up in his heart. An evil man says evil things. These come from the evil that is stored up in his heart. A person’s mouth says everything that is in their heart.

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

莫使惡言浪語、出爾口中。當因人施教、循循善誘、以成人之美。

嗟爾蝮種、本性既惡、言何能善。蓋有蘊於心、口則宣之。善人所蘊者善、所發亦善；惡人所蘊者惡、所發亦惡。我語爾、審判之日、凡人所道輕薄之言、必須一一負責。蓋爾因言而稱義、亦因言而定罪也。』

有能置信於予者、必有「活水之泉、湧自其懷、沛若江河、」正如經之所言也。』

賢者口與舌。惟傳眞與善。聖道蘊心府。聖德從容踐。

惟毋遽加剪滅兮。恐吾民因無敵而荒怠。願鼎力以驅逐之兮。使其不復為吾族之害。

俾基督之道、寓爾五內、使之發榮滋長、蔚為眾慧。以聖詠、聖詩、聖歌、相互淬勵切磋、心歌腹咏、同聲頌美天主。

舌在人身、亦復如是其形雖小、其誇實大。星星之火、可以燎原；舌猶火也、亦眾惡之府也；深藏我百體之中、而玷污我七尺之軀、引上地獄之火、而焚燬我生命之輪。一切飛禽走獸、爬蟲鱗介、皆可馴服、且已為人類所馴服矣。惟此三寸之舌、竟無人能馴服之；其惡不息、其毒無比。

又云：『舌端弄詭譎、咽喉如荒墓；唇內藏辛螫、口中含咒詛；

若作和羹、爾為鹽梅；庶知如何因人而施教也。

仁義成絕響。忠信已泯沒。交友無誠意。口蜜心詭譎。求主矯浮薄。復使反樸拙。懲罰巧言者。剪截誇誕舌。

願將爾天書。藏我腔子裏。亦欲向大會。宣布爾佳音。諄諄何曾倦。惟主知我心。

不聞敵人。大施譴訶。願彼遄死。厥名消磨。甘言慰問。惟誑惟訛。當面戚戚。轉背呵呵。

至於奸非浮穢貪婪之事、非聖徒所可道也。一切穢褻浪謔輕薄之詞、皆宜痛絕；惟宜謳歌主德、稱謝洪恩。

主曰：「時既至、當與義塞約如次欲將吾誡命、置彼腔子裏；真諦與妙道、深深銘腑肺；我為彼主宰、彼為我子民

『請賜權能、俾我亦能按手於人、使受聖神。』伯鐸祿曰：『願爾與金偕亡！爾思以金錢易取天主之恩賜乎？在天主前、爾心不正、實無與於斯道、故當痛悔、虔求天主、一念之錯或可望赦。吾見爾正處於荼毒之中、為罪惡重加束縛。』

以聖詠聖詩聖歌、互相酬唱、心歌腹詠、以頌美於主。

群小紛紜。橫行無度。祈主保我。莫為所誣。磨礪其舌。利矣其芒。言如暗箭。中傷賢良。突然而發。得意洋洋。以惡相勸。逞其猖狂。設阱陷人。自誇謀臧。誰其覺之。作惡何妨。鈎心鬬角。競宣其長。詎知天主。將射彼逆。突然一箭。恰中其的。

口述爾之仁。及爾神奇事。救恩一何富。亹亹不勝紀。功德見神力。仁義為微旨。自幼承主訓。一生宣靈異。白髮莫相違。俾竟平生志。綦願將大德。宣示我後裔。

求主出我。於彼掌握。扶我翼我。莫令失足。

群犬晚歸兮。舉狺狺而吠予。

將審判普天生靈、而處諸悖逆之罪、且按其平生之惡業謗讟、而施刑焉。』

夫我乃諸聖中之至微者、竟亦蒙此殊恩、得在異邦人中弘宣基督不可思議之厚澤、

夫天主昔嘗作光於黑暗之中矣、今乃照耀於吾人之心中、俾吾人得藉基督耶穌之聖容、而洞識天主之光榮。然此真光之在吾人、猶珍寶之藏於瓦器也。應知可貴者在天主之德、而不在吾人之身。

伯鐸祿曰：『亞拿尼亞爾何沙殫蒙心、私藏所得、以欺聖神乎？
