He also told them this parable:“ Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?

Jesus also gave them another example. He asked,“ Can a blind person lead another blind person? Won’t they both fall into a pit?

姑聽之、彼乃瞽導瞽者也、若瞽導瞽、二者必並陷於坑、

惟彼惡人及惑眾者、日增其惡、迷人而自迷、

若有人施教、與此不同、不從我主耶穌基督之正言、及虔敬之訓、此人乃心驕、一無所知、專好辯問鬥辭、由此生妒嫉、爭競、訕謗、妄疑、並壞心術、喪真理之人所尚虛誕之爭辯、彼以虔敬為獲利之法、如此之人、爾當遠避、如此之人爾當遠避有原文抄本無此二句

導斯民者誘之、凡被其所導者俱滅亡、

禍哉爾曹瞽而導人者、爾素云、指聖殿而誓、則不足為誓、惟指聖殿之金而誓、則當守之、愚而瞽者、孰為大、金大乎、抑使金成為聖物之聖殿大乎、爾又曰、指祭臺而誓、則不足為誓、惟指祭臺之禮物而誓、則當守之、愚而瞽者、孰為大、禮物大乎、抑使禮物成為聖物之祭臺大乎、故人指祭臺而誓、是指祭臺及凡在臺上之物而誓也、指聖殿而誓、是指聖殿及居其內者而誓也、指天而誓、是指天主之寶座及坐於其上者而誓也、○禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾以薄荷、茴香、芹菜、十輸其一、但律法之尤重者、即義與仁與信、爾則遺之、此爾所當行者也、而彼亦不可遺、瞽而導人者、蚋則濾之、駝則吞之、○禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾潔杯盤之外、內則充滿劫奪及非義、瞽者法利賽人乎、先潔杯盤之內、則其外亦潔矣、○

今主論彼先知如是云、彼託我名預言、我未嘗遣之、彼曰、斯地必無鋒刃饑饉之災、彼先知必因鋒刃饑饉而滅、聽其預言之民、必遭鋒刃饑饉之災、屍擲耶路撒冷街衢、無人葬埋、妻室子女皆然、蓋我必循其惡而報之、

蛇乎、蝮所產乎、爾何能逃磯很拿之刑乎、

爾必遭昏黑、如在夜中、不復得默示、必遭幽暗、不能復卜筮、彼偽先知、必覺如日已沈西、白晝已變晦冥、見異像者見異像者或作先見者抱愧、占卜者蒙羞、皆必掩口、因不蒙天主垂應、

彼行可惡之事、知慚愧乎、彼毫不慚愧、不羞恥、故必傾仆於傾仆者之中、我鑒察之時、必顛蹶、主言之矣、○

主諭我曰、爾又取愚牧之器、我必使一牧者興於斯地、將亡者彼不顧、迷途者彼不尋、被傷者彼不醫、強壯者彼不牧、肥美者彼食其肉、且斷其蹏、惟彼愚牧、愚牧或作惡劣之牧遠離遠離或作棄置群羊、禍必臨之、禍必臨之或作禍哉禍哉刃繫繫原文作臨下同其臂、擊其右目、刃繫其臂擊其右目或作其臂必受傷其右目亦然其臂盡枯、其右目昏昧失明、

彼行可惡之事、知慚愧乎、彼毫不慚愧、不羞恥、故必傾仆於傾仆者之中、我鑒察之時、彼必顛蹶、此乃主所言、

民之守望者、皆瞽目、皆無知、皆似瘖犬不能吠、皆作夢者、偃臥者、貪寢者、

自信為瞽者之相、在暗者之光、
