“ But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

我告爾眾、爾其諦聽！「愛爾仇、恤爾敵；」

“ But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek what is good for one another and for all people.

But love your enemies and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil people.

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the Lord will reward you.

“ You have heard that it was said,‘ You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,so that you may prove yourselves to be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

“ If you encounter your enemy’s ox or his donkey wandering away, you must return it to him.If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall not leave it helpless for its owner; you must arrange the load with him.

Never repay evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all people.If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people.Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written:“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.“ But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

And He was saying to them,“ Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.

“ Have I rejoiced at the misfortune of my enemy, Or become excited when evil found him?No, I have not allowed my mouth to sin By asking for his life in a curse.Have the people of my tent not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been satisfied with his meat’?

Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word with a good and virtuous heart, and hold it firmly, and produce fruit with perseverance.

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice,“ Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
