Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you and say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as something evil. They do all this because you are followers of the Son of Man.

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.

They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed.“ Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jewswho killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and don’t please God, and are contrary to all men,

The world can’t hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.

Nevertheless even many of the rulers believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue,

For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.

You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.

who say,‘ Stay by yourself, don’t come near to me, for I am holier than you.’ These are smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all day.

Ask him.”So they called the man who was blind a second time, and said to him,“ Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”He therefore answered,“ I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”They said to him again,“ What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”He answered them,“ I told you already, and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t also want to become his disciples, do you?”They insulted him and said,“ You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

They answered him,“ You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us?” Then they threw him out.

But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.The Good News must first be preached to all the nations.When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.“ Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

For we have found this man to be a plague, an instigator of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
