Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

若為人子故、不容於世俗、既被人棄絕、更受人凌辱、乃至將爾名、視之如荼毒、爾乃真福人、即日當歡躍；

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you and say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as something evil. They do all this because you are followers of the Son of Man.

“ Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

You are blessed when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.

“ Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“ Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in this same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

And you will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you;but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed.If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, and of God, rests upon you.Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler;but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.

persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

They will ban you from the synagogue, yet an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering a service to God.

But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be in dread,

For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, for you also endured the same sufferings at the hands of your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews,who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out. They are not pleasing to God, but hostile to all people,

and in no way alarmed by your opponents— which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and this too, from God.For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf,experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its deeds are evil.

Nevertheless many, even of the rulers, believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, so that they would not be excommunicated from the synagogue;

For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person endures grief when suffering unjustly.For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.

and you will be hated by all people because of My name.

Who say,‘ Keep to yourself, do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.

We are fools on account of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are without honor!Up to this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless;

Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word:“ Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you on account of My name, Have said,‘ Let the Lord be glorified, so that we may see your joy.’ But they will be put to shame.

Are they servants of Christ?— I am speaking as if insane— I more so; in far more labors, in far more imprisonments, beaten times without number, often in danger of death.Five times I received from the Jews thirty nine lashes.Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea.I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers;

I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

They listened to him up to this statement, and then they raised their voices and said,“ Away with such a man from the earth, for he should not be allowed to live!”

“ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.Remember the word that I said to you,‘ A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they followed My word, they will follow yours also.But all these things they will do to you on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

for I will show him how much he must suffer in behalf of My name.”

And so they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What, then, will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it.

His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already reached the decision that if anyone confessed Him to be Christ, he was to be excommunicated from the synagogue.It was for this reason that his parents said,“ He is of age; ask him.”So for a second time they summoned the man who had been blind, and said to him,“ Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.”He then answered,“ Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”So they said to him,“ What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?”He answered them,“ I told you already and you did not listen; why do you want to hear it again? You do not want to become His disciples too, do you?”They spoke abusively to him and said,“ You are His disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

They answered him,“ You were born entirely in sins, and yet you are teaching us?” So they put him out.

“ But be on your guard; for they will hand you over to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.And brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.And you will be hated by everyone because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

For we have found this man a public menace and one who stirs up dissensions among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

and you will even be brought before governors and kings on My account, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
