Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you and say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as something evil. They do all this because you are followers of the Son of Man.

“ Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake.

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.“ You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Dear friends, don’t be surprised when the fiery ordeal comes among you to test you, as if something unusual were happening to you.Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also rejoice with great joy when his glory is revealed.If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.Let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler.But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in having that name.

along with the persecutions and sufferings that came to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured— and yet the Lord rescued me from them all.In fact, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

They will ban you from the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service to God.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed. Do not fear them or be intimidated,

For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of God’s churches in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, since you have also suffered the same things from people of your own country, just as they did from the Jewswho killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. They displease God and are hostile to everyone,

not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your salvation— and this is from God.For it has been granted to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,since you are engaged in the same struggle that you saw I had and now hear that I have.

The world cannot hate you, but it does hate me because I testify about it— that its works are evil.

Nevertheless, many did believe in him even among the rulers, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, so that they would not be banned from the synagogue.

For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name,

They say,‘ Keep to yourself, don’t come near me, for I am too holy for you!’ These practices are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that burns all day long.

We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!Up to the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty; we are poorly clothed, roughly treated, homeless;

You who tremble at his word, hear the word of the LORD:“ Your brothers who hate and exclude you for my name’s sake have said,‘ Let the LORD be glorified so that we can see your joy!’ But they will be put to shame.”

Are they servants of Christ? I have spent a night and a day in the open sea.On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, and dangers among false brothers;

I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.“ What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

Anyone who finds his life will lose it, and anyone who loses his life because of me will find it.

His parents said these things because they were afraid of the Jews, since the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed him as the Messiah, he would be banned from the synagogue.This is why his parents said,“ He’s of age; ask him.”So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him,“ Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”He answered,“ Whether or not he’s a sinner, I don’t know. One thing I do know: I was blind, and now I can see!”Then they asked him,“ What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”“ I already told you,” he said,“ and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? You don’t want to become his disciples too, do you?”They ridiculed him:“ You’re that man’s disciple, but we’re Moses’s disciples.

“ You were born entirely in sin,” they replied,“ and are you trying to teach us?” Then they threw him out.

“ But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to local courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.And it is necessary that the gospel be preached to all nations.So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say, but say whatever is given to you at that time, for it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.“ Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.You will be hated by everyone because of my name, but the one who endures to the end will be saved.

For we have found this man to be a plague, an agitator among all the Jews throughout the Roman world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

You will even be brought before governors and kings because of me, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.
