Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you and say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as something evil. They do all this because you are followers of the Son of Man.

“ Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.

Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you:but insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy.If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are ye; because the Spirit of glory and the Spirit of God resteth upon you.For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil- doer, or as a meddler in other men’s matters:but if a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

persecutions, sufferings; what things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: and out of them all the Lord delivered me.Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.

But even if ye should suffer for righteousness’ sake, blessed are ye: and fear not their fear, neither be troubled;

For ye, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judæa in Christ Jesus: for ye also suffered the same things of your own countrymen, even as they did of the Jews;who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove out us, and please not God, and are contrary to all men;

and in nothing affrighted by the adversaries: which is for them an evident token of perdition, but of your salvation, and that from God;because to you it hath been granted in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer in his behalf:having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.

Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.For what glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted for it, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.

that say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me, for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling- place;

Hear the word of Jehovah, ye that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hate you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, have said, Let Jehovah be glorified, that we may see your joy; but it is they that shall be put to shame.

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as one beside himself) I more; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft.Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day have I been in the deep;in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

And they gave him audience unto this word; and they lifted up their voice, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

And they cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner.He therefore answered, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.They said therefore unto him, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples?And they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.

They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them.And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations.And when they lead you to judgment, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of insurrections among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

yea and before governors and kings shall ye be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
