When they had entered Jerusalem, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James were there.

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then he called them.

As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon( called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea( for they were fishermen).

He took Peter, James, and John with him, and became very troubled and distressed.

He had James, the brother of John, executed with a sword.

Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

Then Jesus, when he looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, said to Philip,“ Where can we buy bread so that these people may eat?”

One of Jesus’ disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons, who were Simon’s business partners. Then Jesus said to Simon,“ Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.”

From Simeon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, have been granted a faith just as precious as ours.

Philip said,“ Lord, show us the Father, and we will be content.”

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.

Philip found Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also wrote about– Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“ Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their boat mending nets.

Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two disciples who heard what John said and followed Jesus.He first found his own brother Simon and told him,“ We have found the Messiah!”( which is translated Christ).Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).

Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John and led them alone up a high mountain privately. And he was transfigured before them,

Now as soon as they left the synagogue, they entered Simon and Andrew’s house, with James and John.

Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these do?” He replied,“ Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus told him,“ Feed my lambs.”Jesus said a second time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He replied,“ Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus told him,“ Shepherd my sheep.”Jesus said a third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time,“ Do you love me?” and said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied,“ Feed my sheep.I tell you the solemn truth, when you were young, you tied your clothes around you and went wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will tie you up and bring you where you do not want to go.”( Now Jesus said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter was going to glorify God.) After he said this, Jesus told Peter,“ Follow me.”Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them.( This was the disciple who had leaned back against Jesus’ chest at the meal and asked,“ Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?”)So when Peter saw him, he asked Jesus,“ Lord, what about him?”Jesus replied,“ If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”So the saying circulated among the brothers and sisters that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather,“ If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours?”This is the disciple who testifies about these things and has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.
