有一個安息日，耶穌從麥田經過。他的門徒走路的時候，摘起麥穗來。法利賽人對耶穌說：「看哪！他們為甚麼做安息日不合法的事呢？」耶穌對他們說：「大衛和跟從他的人飢餓需要食物時所做的事，你們沒有念過嗎？他在亞比亞他作大祭司的時候，怎麼進了神的居所，吃了供餅，又給跟從他的人吃呢？這餅除了祭司以外，人都不可以吃。」他又對他們說：「安息日是為人設立的，人不是為安息日設立的。所以，人子也是安息日的主。」

那時，耶穌在安息日從麥田經過。他的門徒餓了，就摘麥穗來吃。法利賽人看見，對耶穌說：「看哪，你的門徒在安息日做不合法的事了。」耶穌對他們說：「大衛和跟從他的人飢餓時所做的事，你們沒有念過嗎？他怎麼進了神的居所，吃了供餅呢？這餅是他和跟從他的人不可以吃的，惟獨祭司才可以吃。再者，律法上所記的，在安息日，祭司在聖殿裏犯了安息日也不算有罪，你們沒有念過嗎？但我告訴你們，比聖殿更大的在這裏。『我喜愛憐憫，不喜愛祭祀。』你們若明白這話的意思，就不將無罪的當作有罪了。因為人子是安息日的主。」

第一日要有聖會，任何勞動的工都不可做；

「你要吩咐以色列人，對他們說：你們到了我賜給你們的地，收割莊稼的時候，要把初熟莊稼中的一捆拿來給祭司。他要把這捆在耶和華面前搖一搖，使你們蒙悅納。祭司要在安息日的次日把這捆搖一搖。

你們要吃無酵餅七日。第一日要把酵從你們各家中除去，因為從第一日到第七日，任何吃有酵之物的，必從以色列中剪除。

「你們要從安息日的次日，就是獻那捆莊稼為搖祭的那日起，計算足足的七個安息日。

「你要計算七個七日：從你用鐮刀開始收割莊稼時算起，一共七個七日。
