And He said to them,“ Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

耶稣对他们说：“新郎与宾客在一起的时候，难道你们能叫宾客禁食吗？

耶穌對他們說：「新郎和陪伴之人同在的時候，豈能叫陪伴之人禁食呢？

耶穌對他們說：「新郎和賓客在一起的時候，你們怎麼能叫賓客禁食呢？

耶穌對他們說：『新郎跟賀喜的朋友在一起的時候，你們哪能叫他們禁食呢？

耶穌對他們說：「新郎與賓客在一起的時候，難道你們能叫賓客禁食嗎？

耶穌曰、新娶者在、安能使賀娶者禁食乎、

耶穌曰、新娶者在、安能使賀娶之人禁食乎、

耶穌曰、新娶者尚在、安能使賀娶之客禁食乎、

耶穌曰：『新壻尚在、安能令新壻之友守齋乎？

Jesus answered,“ Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while he is with them?

Jesus answered,“ Can you make the friends of the groom fast while he is with them?

And Jesus said to them,“ Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?

Jesus responded,“ Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not.

Jesus said to them,“ You can’t make the wedding guests fast while the groom is with them, can you?

And Jesus said to them,“ You cannot make the attendants of the groom fast while the groom is with them, can you?

And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride- chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

Jesus said to them,“ You can’t make the wedding guests fast while the groom is with them, can you?

And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

So Jesus said to them,“ You cannot make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you?

He said to them,“ Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.

For your Maker is your husband, The Lord of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.

His left hand is under my head, And his right hand embraces me.I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles or by the does of the field, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.

For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.

The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear; Forget your own people also, and your father’s house;So the King will greatly desire your beauty; Because He is your Lord, worship Him.And the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor.The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace; Her clothing is woven with gold.She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors; The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to You.With gladness and rejoicing they shall be brought; They shall enter the King’s palace.Instead of Your fathers shall be Your sons, Whom You shall make princes in all the earth.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.Then he said to me,“ Write:‘ Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me,“ These are the true sayings of God.”

He made its pillars of silver, Its support of gold, Its seat of purple, Its interior paved with love By the daughters of Jerusalem.Go forth, O daughters of Zion, And see King Solomon with the crown With which his mother crowned him On the day of his wedding, The day of the gladness of his heart.

For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, That you tell him I am lovesick!

THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM: Where has your beloved gone, O fairest among women? Where has your beloved turned aside, That we may seek him with you?

“ The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son,

“ Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.“ And at midnight a cry was heard:‘ Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.And the foolish said to the wise,‘ Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’But the wise answered, saying,‘ No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

So his father went down to the woman. And Samson gave a feast there, for young men used to do so.And it happened, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.
