Jesus answered,“ Can you make the friends of the groom fast while he is with them?

耶穌曰、新娶者在、安能使賀娶者禁食乎、

耶穌曰、新娶者在、安能使賀娶之人禁食乎、

耶穌曰、新娶者尚在、安能使賀娶之客禁食乎、

耶穌曰：『新壻尚在、安能令新壻之友守齋乎？

Jesus answered,“ Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while he is with them?

And Jesus said to them,“ Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?

Jesus responded,“ Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not.

Jesus said to them,“ You can’t make the wedding guests fast while the groom is with them, can you?

And Jesus said to them,“ You cannot make the attendants of the groom fast while the groom is with them, can you?

And He said to them,“ Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride- chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

Jesus said to them,“ You can’t make the wedding guests fast while the groom is with them, can you?

And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

So Jesus said to them,“ You cannot make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you?

He said to them,“ Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

The bride belongs to the groom. The friend who helps the groom waits and listens for him. He is full of joy when he hears the groom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

I made you. I am now your husband. My name is the Lord Who Rules Over All. I am the Holy One of Israel. I have set you free. I am the God of the whole earth.

As a young man marries a young woman, so your Builder will marry you. As a groom is happy with his bride, so your God will be full of joy over you.”

The Lord your God is with you. He is the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you. In his love he will no longer punish you. Instead, he will sing for joy because of you.”

Royal bride, listen and pay careful attention. Forget about your people and the home you came from.Let the king be charmed by your beauty. Honor him. He is now your master.The people of Tyre will come with gifts. Wealthy people will try to gain your favor.In her room, the princess looks glorious. Her gown has gold threads running through it.Dressed in beautiful clothes, she is led to the king. Her virgin companions follow her. They have been brought to be with her.They are led in with joy and gladness. They enter the palace of the king.Your sons will rule just as your father and grandfather did. You will make them princes through the whole land.

Husbands, love your wives. Love them just as Christ loved the church. He gave himself up for her.He did it to make her holy. He made her clean by washing her with water and the word.He did it to bring her to himself as a brightly shining church. He wants a church that has no stain or wrinkle or any other flaw. He wants a church that is holy and without blame.

Let us be joyful and glad! Let us give him glory! It is time for the Lamb’s wedding. His bride has made herself ready.Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear.” Fine linen stands for the right things that God’s holy people do.Here is what the angel told me to write.“ Blessed are those invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” Then he added,“ These are the true words of God.”

Five were wise.The foolish ones took their lamps but didn’t take any olive oil with them.The wise ones took oil in jars along with their lamps.The groom did not come for a long time. So the bridesmaids all grew tired and fell asleep.“ At midnight someone cried out,‘ Here’s the groom! Come out to meet him!’“ Then all the bridesmaids woke up and got their lamps ready.The foolish ones said to the wise ones,‘ Give us some of your oil. Our lamps are going out.’“‘ No,’ they replied.‘ There may not be enough for all of us. Instead, go to those who sell oil. Buy some for yourselves.’“ So they went to buy the oil. But while they were on their way, the groom arrived. The bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the wedding dinner. Then the door was shut.

Samson’s father went down to see the woman. Samson had a feast prepared there. He was following the practice of young men when they married their wives.When the people saw Samson, they gave him 30 men to be his companions.
