群眾看見，就起了敬畏的心，頌讚那把這樣的權柄賜給人的神。

眾人都驚懼，頌讚神說：“有偉大的先知在我們中間興起來了！”又說：“神眷顧他的子民了！”

她們立刻離開墳墓，又害怕，又十分歡喜，跑去告訴耶穌的門徒。

西門．彼得看見這種情景，就俯伏在耶穌膝前，說：“主啊，離開我，因為我是個罪人。”

格拉森一帶的人，都要求耶穌離開他們，因為他們大大懼怕。他就上船回去了。

群眾都很驚奇，說：“難道他就是大衛的子孫？”

這城必在地上萬國面前使我得名聲，得喜樂（按照《馬索拉文本》，“得名聲，得喜樂”應作“得喜樂的名聲”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），得頌讚，得榮耀，因為萬國必聽見我向這城的人所施的一切福樂。他們因我向這城所施的一切福樂和平安，就都恐懼戰兢。’

眾人因著所發生的事，都頌讚神，於是公議會為了群眾的緣故，也因為找不到藉口懲罰他們，就恐嚇一番，把他們放了。

後來以色列人必歸回，尋求耶和華他們的神，尋求大衛他們的王。在末後的日子，他們必戰戰兢兢來到耶和華那裡，接受他的恩惠。

他們就因著我的緣故頌讚神。

那人就起來，立刻拿著褥子，當眾出去了。眾人都非常驚奇，頌讚神，說：“我們從來沒有見過這樣的事。”

全體會眾和所有聽見這事的人，都很害怕。主藉著使徒的手，在民間行了許多神蹟奇事。他們都同心聚集在所羅門廊下，其餘的人，沒有一個敢接近他們，可是民眾都很敬重他們。
