那时有成千上万的人聚在一起，甚至彼此践踏。耶稣就先对门徒说：“你们要提防法利赛人的酵，就是虚伪。

有许多人来到他那里，把瘸腿的、瞎眼的、残废的、哑的和许多别的病人，都带到耶稣跟前，他就医好他们。群众看见哑巴说话，残废的复原，瘸腿的行走，瞎眼的看见，就十分惊奇，于是颂赞以色列的神。

这消息传遍了那一带。

但那人出来，竟任意传讲，就把这事传开了，以致耶稣不能再公开进城，只好留在外边荒野的地方；然而还是有人从各处到他那里去。过了些日子，耶稣再回到迦百农。一听说他在屋子里，许多人就都来聚集，甚至连门前都没有地方了，耶稣就对他们讲道。

耶稣走遍加利利，在各会堂里教导人，宣扬天国的福音，医治民间各种疾病、各种病症。他的名声传遍了叙利亚全地，人们就把一切患病的，就是患各种疾病、疼痛、鬼附、癫痫、瘫痪的，都带到他面前，他就医好他们。于是有许多人从加利利、低加波利、耶路撒冷、犹太和约旦河东来跟从耶稣。

耶稣的名声立刻传遍了加利利一带。

有一大群人，因为看见了他在病人身上所行的神迹，就跟随了他。

有许多人与耶稣同行，他转身对他们说：

耶稣和门徒退到海边去，一大群从加利利来的人跟着他；

敬畏耶和华是智慧的教训；尊荣以先，必有谦卑。

照样，善行也是明显的，就算不明显，也不能隐藏。
