眾皆愕然相顧曰：『斯何道歟？言具威權、諭魔即出。』

All the people were amazed and said to each other,“ What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!”

Amazed, the people exclaimed,“ What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, and they flee at his command!”

Then a demon-oppressed man who was blind and mute was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the man spoke and saw.And all the people were amazed, and said,“ Can this be the Son of David?”

And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

The seventy-two returned with joy, saying,“ Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”And he said to them,“ I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying,“ He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying,“ I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.But the evil spirit answered them,“ Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
