喊着：“以色列人哪，来帮忙！这就是在各处教导众人糟蹋我们百姓、律法和这地方的人。不但如此，他还带了希腊人进圣殿，污秽了这圣地。”这话是因他们曾看见以弗所人特罗非摩跟保罗一起在城里，以为保罗带他进了圣殿。于是全城都骚动，百姓一齐跑来，拿住保罗，拉他出圣殿，殿门立刻都关了。他们正想要杀他，有人报信给营里的千夫长，说耶路撒冷全城都乱了。千夫长立刻带着士兵和几个百夫长，跑下去到他们那里。他们见了千夫长和士兵，就停下来不打保罗。

我若没有在他们中间做过别人未曾做的事，他们就没有罪；但如今连我与我的父，他们也看见了，也恨恶了。这是要应验他们律法上所写的话：‘他们无故地恨我。’

耶和华吩咐摩西说：“这人应当处死；全会众要在营外用石头打死他。”

“我知道，你们是亚伯拉罕的后裔，你们却想要杀我，因为你们心里容不下我的道。

恶人刀已出鞘，弓已上弦，要砍倒困苦贫穷的人，要杀害行为正直的人。

所以，耶稣也在城门外受苦，为要用自己的血使百姓成圣。

众人大声喊叫，捂着耳朵，齐心冲向他，把他推到城外，用石头打他。作见证的人把他们的衣裳放在一个名叫扫罗的青年脚前。

打了许多棍，就把他们下在监里，嘱咐狱警严紧看守。狱警领了这样的命令，就把他们下在内监，两脚拴在木架上。

犹大人又生擒了一万人，把他们带到西拉山顶上，从西拉山顶扔下去，把他们全都摔碎了。
