喊叫着说：“以色列人哪，快来帮忙！这个人到处教导众人反对人民，反对律法和这个地方，他甚至把希腊人也带进殿里，污秽了这圣地。”原来他们看见过以弗所人特罗非摩同保罗在城里，就以为保罗带他进了殿。于是全城震动，民众一齐跑来，捉住保罗，拉出殿外，殿门就立刻关起来了。他们正想杀他的时候，有人报告营部的千夫长，说：“整个耶路撒冷都乱了！”千夫长立刻带着一些百夫长和士兵跑到他们那里。众人一看见千夫长和士兵，就停止殴打保罗。

如果我没有在他们中间作过别人没有作过的事，他们就没有罪；但现在我和我的父，他们都看见了，也都恨恶。这就应验了他们律法上所写的话：‘他们无故地恨我。’

耶和华对摩西说：“那人必须处死，全体会众要在营外用石头把他打死。”

我知道你们是亚伯拉罕的后裔；但你们想杀我，因为你们心里不能容纳我的道。

恶人已经拔出刀来，拉开了弓，要打倒困苦和贫穷的人，杀害行为正直的人。

所以耶稣也是这样在城门外受苦，为的是要藉着自己的血使人民成圣。

众人大声喊叫，掩着耳朵，一齐向他冲过去，把他推出城外，用石头打他。那些证人把自己的衣服，放在一个名叫扫罗的青年人脚前。

打了很多棍，就把他们放在监牢里，吩咐狱吏严密看守。狱吏领了命令，就把他们押入内监，两脚拴了木狗。

犹大人又生擒了一万人，带到一处崖顶，从崖顶把他们抛下去，使他们都摔得肢离破碎。
