我把从上帝那里听到的真理告诉你们，你们反要杀我，亚伯拉罕绝不做这样的事。

他们高喊：“以色列人快来帮忙！就是这人到处教唆人反对我们的民族、律法和圣殿。他还带希腊人进圣殿，玷污这圣地。”这是因为他们在城里见过一个名叫特罗非摩的以弗所人和保罗在一起，以为保罗一定把他带进圣殿了。消息一传开，全城轰动。众人冲进圣殿把保罗拉出来，随即关上殿门。正当他们要杀保罗的时候，有人把耶路撒冷发生骚乱的消息报告给罗马军营的千夫长，千夫长马上带着军兵和几个百夫长赶来了。众人一见千夫长和军队，便停止殴打保罗。

我如果没有在他们当中行过空前的神迹，他们就没有罪了。然而，他们亲眼看见了，竟然还恨我和我的父。这是要应验他们律法书上的话，‘他们无故地恨我。’

耶和华对摩西说：“必须处死那人，全体会众要在营外用石头打死他。”

“我知道你们是亚伯拉罕的子孙，但你们却想杀我，因为你们心里容不下我的道。

恶人拔剑张弓要消灭穷苦人，杀戮正直人，

同样，耶稣也在城门外受难，为要用自己的血使祂的子民圣洁。

众人大喊大叫，捂着耳朵，蜂拥而上，把司提凡拉到城外，用石头打他。指控他的人把他们的衣服交给一个名叫扫罗的青年看管。

他们被毒打一顿，又被关进监狱，官长命狱卒严密看守。狱卒接到命令后把他们关进内牢，双脚上了枷锁。

又把生擒的一万人推下山崖摔得粉身碎骨。
