心中有智慧的可稱為明達人；嘴裏的甜言能增加說服力。

來到自己家鄉，在他們的會堂裏教訓他們，以致他們都驚駭說：『這個人從哪裏得了這智慧和這些異能呢？這不是那木匠的兒子麼？他母親不是叫馬利亞，而他弟兄叫雅各、約瑟、西門、猶大麼？他妹妹們不是都在我們這裏麼？這個人從哪裏得了這一切呢？』

你比任何人類都美麗；有溫文爾雅洋溢於你的嘴脣上；故此上帝賜福與你到永遠。

主永恆主賜給我受教之舌頭，使我知道怎樣用話語去扶助疲乏的人。主每天早晨喚醒我，他每天早晨喚醒我的耳朵，使我曉得聽、像受教者一樣。

到了安息日，他開始在會堂裏教訓人；眾人聽見了，就驚駭說：『這個人從哪裏得到這一切呢？所給予這個人的智慧是甚麼智慧呀？那藉着他的手所行這麼大的異能是甚麼異能啊？這個人不是那木匠、馬利亞的兒子、雅各約瑟猶大西門的弟兄麼？他妹妹們不也是在我們這裏麼？』就跟他格格不入。

言語健全、無可咎責、使反對的人沒有壞話可說我們、而自覺羞愧。

傳道人專心尋求要得可喜悅的話，便將真實之話正確確地寫出來。智慧人的話好像犂刺；語集中的成分又像釘得牢固的釘子：都是一個牧者所賜的。

他們卻沒有力量抵擋司提反講話的智慧和靈力。

差役回答說：『從來沒有人像這個人這樣講話的。』

一句話說得合乎機宜、就如金蘋果鑲嵌在銀的雕刻物上。

他的口吻極其香甜；他全然可愛。耶路撒冷的女子啊，這就是我的愛人；這就是我的伴侶。

凡聽見的都驚奇他的聰明、他的應對。

因為是我要賜給你們口才和智慧，就是一切敵對你們的人所不能反對或辯駁的。

義人的嘴脣曉得怎樣令人悅納；惡人的口總說乖張的話。
