遄返故里、施訓會堂、眾奇之曰：『斯人何由而得如斯之妙慧異能？渠非梓人之子乎？厥母非名瑪莉雅乎？厥兄若弟、非雅各伯、若瑟、西門、樹德乎？厥姊若妹、非與吾輩為比鄰乎？然則斯人亦安得有此耶？』

美辭湧心府。作頌頌吾王。舌如書家筆。瞬息即成章。

禮日、施訓會堂中、聞者異曰：『彼何由而得此？其所賦智慧、所行事蹟、何若是其異乎尋常耶？彼非梓人乎？又非瑪莉雅之子、雅谷伯若瑟樹德西門之兄弟乎？其姊若妹、非吾人之鄰居乎？』遂鄙而棄之。

講道時、更宜正心誠意、態度莊重、言語純潔、無可指摘、如此則反對之人、將以吾人無懈可擊、而自慚矣。

司諦文憑其智慧靈感、應對沛然、無能禦之者。

奉派者曰：『人之論道、未有如斯人之所言者也！』

穎悟明達、應答如流；聞者莫不歎服。

予當賜爾靈慧口才、非爾敵人所能駁覆。

吾願大能者。腰劍燦戎裝。光耀與威嚴。煜煜森劍鋩。正直且謙和。篤實生輝光。
