All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips.“ Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.

至故土、在會堂訓誨、眾奇之曰、斯人何由得斯智慧異能乎、此非木工之子乎、其母非名馬利亞、其兄弟非雅各約西西門猶大乎、其姊妹非與我比鄰乎、斯焉得斯耶、

爾之美好、逾於世人、口銜慈惠、故上帝錫嘏爾、永世靡暨兮、

耶和華之僕曰主耶和華賜我以受教者之舌、能以言輔委靡之人、彼旦旦啟迪我耳、使聽其教、如弟子然、

適安息日、訓於會堂、眾聞而奇之曰、斯焉得斯、所賦之智慧維何、有如是異能由其手而出耶、此非木工乎、非馬利亞之子、雅各約西猶大西門之昆弟乎、其姊妹非與我儕比鄰乎、遂厭棄之、

言正無可咎責、使違逆者自愧、末由以惡議我儕、

傳道者搜索嘉言、循正直而書實語、智者之言若刺、會師之言、其牢若釘、皆為一牧所賜、

司提反以智與神而言、眾莫能禦、

對曰、從未有人若是而言也、

言語適宜、如金果在於銀網、

其口甚甘、其人全體可愛、耶路撒冷諸女歟、此為我之所愛、我之良朋、

聞之者皆奇其穎悟應對、

蓋我將賜爾才辯智慧、爾諸仇不能抵拒辯駁也、

義者之脣、知所悅人、惡者之口、惟出乖謬、

為誠實謙遜公義、赫然乘車前往、無不獲勝、爾之右手、必示爾可畏之事兮、
