He began by saying to them,“ Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Then He turned to His disciples and said privately,“ Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see;for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

“ Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

The woman said to Him,“ I know that Messiah is coming”( who is called Christ).“ When He comes, He will tell us all things.”Jesus said to her,“ I who speak to you am He.”

But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:‘ Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;
