Now He began to say to them,“ Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

He began by saying to them,“ Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Then he began to speak to them.“ The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”

And he began to say unto them, To- day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.

Then he began to tell them,“ Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.”

Turning to the disciples, He said privately,“ Blessed are the eyes that see the things you see;for I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things that you see, and did not see them, and to hear the things that you hear, and did not hear them.”

but this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:‘ And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,‘ That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, And your young men will see visions, And your old men will have dreams;And even on My male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, And they will prophesy.

“ Brothers, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.So because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.It is this Jesus whom God raised up, a fact to which we are all witnesses.Therefore, since He has been exalted at the right hand of God, and has received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.

The woman* said to Him,“ I know that Messiah is coming( He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.”Jesus* said to her,“ I am He, the One speaking to you.”

But the things which God previously announced by the mouths of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has fulfilled in this way.

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

And in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,‘ You shall keep on listening, but shall not understand; And you shall keep on looking, but shall not perceive;
