The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

主之神偕我矣、蓋彼膏我、以宣福音於貧者、遣我宣告、虜者得釋、瞽者得明、受挫折者得自由、

主之神臨我、膏我、俾傳福音於貧人、傷心者醫之、

主之神臨我、因主膏我、俾我傳福音於貧者、遣我醫傷心之人、

上主之神、臨我之身；恩膏沐首、大命是膺。天主遣我、所為何因：窮苦無告、得聆福音；俘囚獲釋、瞽者復明；困者以解、屈者以伸；

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has anointed me to announce the good news to poor people. He has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners. He has sent me so that the blind will see again. He wants me to set free those who are treated badly.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

The Spirit of the Lord[ is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

The Spirit of the Lord God is on Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

the blind see, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.

executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The Lord frees prisoners.The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed. The Lord loves the righteous.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the Devil, because God was with Him.

He replied to them,“ Go and report to John the things you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.

to open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that by faith in Me they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified.’

in order to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those sitting in darkness from the prison house.

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.

Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness until now.The one who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

On that day the deaf will hear the words of a document, and out of a deep darkness the eyes of the blind will see.The humble will have joy after joy in the Lord, and the poor people will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.

The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the shadowland of death, light has dawned.

I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them and rough places into level ground. This is what I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.They will be turned back and utterly ashamed— those who trust in idols and say to metal-plated images: You are our gods!“ Listen, you deaf! Look, you blind, so that you may see.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting,“ Have mercy on us, Son of David!”When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him, and Jesus said to them,“ Do you believe that I can do this?”“ Yes, Lord,” they answered Him.Then He touched their eyes, saying,“ Let it be done for you according to your faith!”And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly,“ Be sure that no one finds out!”

For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness.So then, we must not sleep, like the rest, but we must stay awake and be serious.

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

saying to the prisoners: Come out, and to those who are in darkness: Show yourselves. They will feed along the pathways, and their pastures will be on all the barren heights.

Then looking up at His disciples, He said: You who are poor are blessed, because the kingdom of God is yours.

For God sent Him, and He speaks God’s words, since He gives the Spirit without measure.

He first found his own brother Simon and told him,“ We have found the Messiah!”( which means“ Anointed One”),

“ The poor in spirit are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Listen, my dear brothers: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those who love Him?

Can the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of the righteous be delivered?For this is what the Lord says:“ Even the captives of a mighty man will be taken, and the prey of a tyrant will be delivered; I will contend with the one who contends with you, and I will save your children.

Stand up, shake the dust off yourself! Take your seat, Jerusalem. Remove the bonds from your neck, captive Daughter Zion.”For this is what the Lord says:“ You were sold for nothing, and you will be redeemed without silver.”

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.His delight will be in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes, He will not execute justice by what He hears with His ears,but He will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with discipline from His mouth, and He will kill the wicked with a command from His lips.Righteousness will be a belt around His loins; faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.

The Lord is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit.

I have raised him up in righteousness, and will level all roads for him. He will rebuild My city, and set My exiles free, not for a price or a bribe,” says the Lord of Hosts.

As for you, because of the blood of your covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless cistern.Return to a stronghold, you prisoners who have hope; today I declare that I will restore double to you.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—for the fruit of the light results in all goodness, righteousness, and truth—discerning what is pleasing to the Lord.Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them.For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret.Everything exposed by the light is made clear,for what makes everything clear is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.

Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city— to bring the rebellion to an end, to put a stop to sin, to wipe away iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at My word.

The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers conspire together against the Lord and His Anointed One:

“ As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord:“ My Spirit who is on you, and My words that I have put in your mouth, will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouth of your children, or from the mouth of your children’s children, from now on and forever,” says the Lord.Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines over you.For look, darkness covers the earth, and total darkness the peoples; but the Lord will shine over you, and His glory will appear over you.

I will leave a meek and humble people among you, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.

He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick, until He has led justice to victory.

But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and asked Him,“ We aren’t blind too, are we?”“ If you were blind,” Jesus told them,“ you wouldn’t have sin. But now that you say,‘ We see’— your sin remains.

“ This is My Servant; I strengthen Him, this is My Chosen One; I delight in Him. I have put My Spirit on Him; He will bring justice to the nations.He will not cry out or shout or make His voice heard in the streets.He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick; He will faithfully bring justice.He will not grow weak or be discouraged until He has established justice on earth. The islands will wait for His instruction.”

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy more than your companions.

The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. God, You will not despise a broken and humbled heart.

“ For, in fact, in this city both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed,

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

“ Pass throughout the city of Jerusalem,” the Lord said to him,“ and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the detestable practices committed in it.”

It was annulled on that day, and so the afflicted of the flock who were watching me knew that it was the word of the Lord.

to hear a prisoner’s groaning, to set free those condemned to die,

“ I have consecrated My King on Zion, My holy mountain.”

For the High and Exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy says this:“ I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.

Others sat in darkness and gloom— prisoners in cruel chains—because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the counsel of the Most High.He broke their spirits with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distress.He brought them out of darkness and gloom and broke their chains apart.Let them give thanks to the Lord for His faithful love and His wonderful works for all humanity.For He has broken down the bronze gates and cut through the iron bars.

The Lord God has given Me the tongue of those who are instructed to know how to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens Me each morning; He awakens My ear to listen like those being instructed.

because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and because you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I Myself have heard’— this is the Lord’s declaration.
