Coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said,“ Where did this man get this wisdom, and these mighty works?Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

Jesus answered him,“ I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.

He began to tell them,“ Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of David’s house. The virgin’s name was Mary.
