他們從別加往前行，來到彼西底的安提阿。在安息日，他們進了會堂就坐下。在讀完了律法和先知的書，會堂主管們叫人過去，對他們說：「二位弟兄，你們若有甚麼勸勉眾人的話，請說。」保羅就站起來，做個手勢，說：「諸位以色列人和一切敬畏神的人，請聽。

約瑟和馬利亞照主的律法辦完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。

當他十二歲的時候，他們按着過節的規矩上去。

他們到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那裏。這是要應驗先知所說的話：「他將稱為拿撒勒人。」

來到自己的家鄉，在會堂裏教導人，以致他們都很驚奇，說：「這人哪來這樣的智慧和異能呢？這不是那木匠的兒子嗎？他母親不是叫馬利亞嗎？他兄弟們不是叫雅各、約瑟、西門、猶大嗎？

耶穌回答他：「我一向都是公開地對世人講話，我常在會堂和聖殿裏，就是猶太人聚集的地方教導人，我私下並沒有講甚麼。

耶穌對他們說：「你們聽見的這段經文，今天已經應驗了。」

他在各會堂裏教導人，眾人都稱讚他。

到了第六個月，天使加百列奉神的差遣往加利利的一座城去，這城名叫拿撒勒，到一個童女那裏，她已經許配大衛家的一個人，名叫約瑟；童女的名字叫馬利亞。
