他們由別加繼續前行，來到彼西底區的安提阿。在安息日那天，他們進了會堂坐下來。讀完律法書和先知書後，會堂主管派人告訴他們：「弟兄們，如果你們有什麼勸勉眾人的話，請講。」保羅站起來向大家揮手示意，說：「各位以色列同胞和各位敬畏上帝的外族朋友們，請聽我說。

約瑟和瑪麗亞辦完了主的律法規定的一切事之後，就回到他們的家鄉——加利利的拿撒勒。

耶穌十二歲那年，跟父母照例上去過節。

定居在拿撒勒鎮。這應驗了先知的話：「祂將被稱為拿撒勒人。」

回到自己的家鄉拿撒勒，在會堂裡教導人。人們很驚奇，說：「這個人從哪裡得到如此的智慧和神奇的能力呢？這不是那木匠的兒子嗎？祂母親不是瑪麗亞嗎？祂的弟弟不是雅各、約瑟、西門和猶大嗎？

耶穌說：「我是公開對世人講的，我常在猶太人聚集的會堂和聖殿教導人，沒有在背地裡講過什麼。

祂就對他們說：「你們剛才聽見的這段經文今天已經應驗了。」

祂在各會堂裡教導人，大家都稱讚祂。

伊莉莎白懷孕六個月的時候，天使加百列又奉上帝的命令到加利利的拿撒勒，去見一位童貞女，她叫瑪麗亞。瑪麗亞已經和大衛的後裔約瑟訂了婚。
