他對管園的說：‘你看，這三年，我來到這棵無花果樹那裡找果子，卻找不到，把它砍了吧！何必白佔地土呢？’

人若不住在我裡面，就像枝子丟在外面枯乾了，人把它們拾起來，丟在火裡燒掉了。

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華在可怕的震撼聲中，把樹枝削去；身量高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。樹林中的密叢，他必用鐵器砍下；黎巴嫩的樹木必被大能者伐倒。

大聲呼叫，這樣說：你們要砍下這樹，削斷枝子，搖落葉子，打散果子，把樹下的走獸趕散，把樹枝上的飛鳥趕走。

因為我們的神是烈火。

王既然看見一位守望者，就是聖者，從天上下來，說：‘你們要砍下毀壞這樹，樹根的餘幹卻要留在地上，用鐵和銅的鍊子圍住，留在野地的青草中，使他被天露滴濕；使他的分和野地的走獸一樣，直到他經過那七年的時期。’

在伊甸所有的樹木中，有誰的榮美和高大能與你相比呢？然而你卻要與伊甸的樹木一同下到地的深處。你要在沒有受割禮的人中，與被刀劍所殺的人一同躺臥。這樹就是法老和他的眾民。這是主耶和華說的。’”

“人子啊！葡萄樹的木料怎能勝過樹林中的枝子呢？人可以從葡萄樹上取木料製造物件嗎？可以從葡萄樹上取木料做釘子掛器皿嗎？看哪！已經拋在火裡當作燃料，火既燒毀了兩端，連中間也燒焦了，它還可以用來製造物件嗎？

如果有人干犯了摩西的律法，憑著兩三個證人，他尚且得不到憐憫而死；

日子將到，人必說：‘不生育的和沒有懷過胎的，也沒有哺養過嬰兒的有福了。’那時人要對大山說：‘倒在我們身上！’對小山說：‘遮蓋我們！’他們在青綠的樹上，既然這樣作；在枯乾的樹上，又會怎樣呢？”
