此子將稱至上者之先知、為主前驅、以備其道、示民知拯救、即在赦罪也、賴吾上帝、以矜恤之心、使旭日自上臨我、居幽暗陰翳者光照之、導我履平康之道矣、○

其至為光作證、使眾以之而信、

約翰曰、我以水施洗、有立爾中者、爾不識之、此人後我來、而先我在、即其履帶、我不堪解、此事見於約但外之伯大巴喇、約翰施洗處、○明日、約翰見耶穌就己、則曰、觀上帝之羔、負世人之罪者、我言後我來、先我在、以其本先我者、即斯人也、我素不識之、我至以水施洗、欲顯之於以色列民耳、○約翰又證曰、我見聖神似鴿、自天降而止其上、我不識之、惟遣我以水施洗者、語我曰、爾觀聖神降而止其上、即以聖神施洗者、故我見而證其為上帝子也、○明日、約翰偕二門徒立、見耶穌遊行、則曰、觀上帝之羔、

野有聲、呼云、備主道、直其徑、

令以色列人、多轉而歸主、即其上帝焉、彼將為主前驅、以以利亞情性才能、使父慈其子、逆者慕義人之智慧、為主備作新之民

此人乃先知以賽亞所指者、曰、野有聲呼云、備主道、直其徑、

彼將使父慈其子、子孝其父、免我涖臨、降災於斯土。

竊聞人云、平衢路、修道途、去窒礙、俾我民前往、

當出邑門、平衢路、修甬道、去窒礙為民展旆。
