These are the twelve tribes of Israel. This is what their father said to them when he blessed them. He gave each of them an appropriate blessing.

And those of the sons of Levi who receive the priestly office have authorization according to the law to collect a tithe from the people, that is, from their fellow countrymen, although they too are descendants of Abraham.But Melchizedek who does not share their ancestry collected a tithe from Abraham and blessed the one who possessed the promise.Now without dispute the inferior is blessed by the superior,

Joseph said to his father,“ They are the sons God has given me in this place.” His father said,“ Bring them to me so I may bless them.”

“ Tell Aaron and his sons,‘ This is the way you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:“ The LORD bless you and protect you;The LORD make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”’So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”

After he took the children in his arms, he placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Then prepare for me some tasty food, the kind I love, and bring it to me. Then I will eat it so that I may bless you before I die.”
