又是永活的；我曾經死過，看哪，現在又活著，直活到永永遠遠，並且拿著死亡和陰間的鑰匙。

他說：“大蒙眷愛的人哪！不要懼怕，願你平安，你要大大剛強。”他和我說話的時候，我就剛強起來；於是我說：“我主請說，因為你剛強了我。”

撒迦利亞一見就驚慌起來，十分害怕。天使說：“撒迦利亞，不要怕，因為你的祈求已蒙垂聽，你妻子以利沙伯要給你生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫約翰。

“你要寫信給在士每拿教會的使者，說：‘那首先的、末後的、曾經死去而又活過來的，這樣說：

忽然有一位像人的，摸我的嘴唇，我就開口和那站在我面前的交談，說：“我主啊！因著這異象，我非常痛苦，毫無氣力。

他的樣子好像閃電，衣服潔白如雪。看守的人因為害怕他，就渾身戰抖，好像死了一樣。那使者對婦女們說：“你們不要怕，我知道你們在找被釘十字架的耶穌。

獨有我但以理看見這異象，那些和我在一起的人都沒有看見，不過他們卻大大驚慌，逃跑躲藏起來了。因此，只有我一人留下來；我看見了這大異象，就全身無力，臉色大變，一點力氣都沒有。我卻仍聽見他說話的聲音；我一聽見他說話的聲音，就沉睡了，臉伏在地。忽然有一隻手按在我身上，使我用膝和手掌勉強支持著要站起來。他對我說：“大蒙眷愛的但以理啊！你應當留意我要對你說的話。你只管站起來，因為我現在奉差遣到你這裡來。”他和我說這話的時候，我就戰戰兢兢地站起來。他又對我說：“但以理啊！不要懼怕，因為自從你第一天決心要明白這些事，又在你的神面前謙卑自己，你禱告的話已蒙垂聽了；我就是因你禱告的話而來的。

他就來到我所站的地方；他來到的時候，我就害怕，臉伏在地；他對我說：“人子啊，你要明白！這異象是關於末後的時期的。”他和我說話的時候，我沉睡了，臉伏在地；他觸摸我，使我站起來。

她卻因這話驚慌起來，反覆思想這樣祝賀是甚麼意思。

有一天，大約下午三點鐘，他在異象中，清清楚楚看見神的一位天使來到他那裡，對他說：“哥尼流！”他定睛一看，害怕起來，說：“主啊，甚麼事？”天使說：“你的禱告和善行，已經達到神面前，蒙他記念了。

在這裡，收取十分之一的，都是必死的；但在那裡，收納十分之一的，卻被證實是一位活著的。
