He said to them,“ This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

Jesus said to them,“ This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms must come true.”

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Then he said,“ When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

He told them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Now He said to them,“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Then He said to them,“ These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me.

Then He told them,“ These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

And he said unto them, These[ are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and[ in] the prophets, and[ in] the psalms, concerning me.

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled.”

Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

I will pour on David’s house, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm,‘ You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’

saying,“ The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me,“ Look! Don’t do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.”

God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son.He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.He will judge the poor of the people. He will save the children of the needy, and will break the oppressor in pieces.They shall fear you while the sun endures; and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.He will come down like rain on the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.In his days, the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.Yes, all kings shall fall down before him. All nations shall serve him.For he will deliver the needy when he cries; the poor, who has no helper.He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy.He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba. Men shall pray for him continually. They shall bless him all day long.Abundance of grain shall be throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field.His name endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed by him. All nations will call him blessed.Praise be to Yahweh God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.Blessed be his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and amen.This ends the prayers by David, the son of Jesse.

Yahweh says to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.”Yahweh will send out the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule among your enemies.Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth.Yahweh has sworn, and will not change his mind:“ You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”The Lord is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his wrath.He will judge among the nations. He will heap up dead bodies. He will crush the ruler of the whole earth.He will drink of the brook on the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

“ Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.“ Speak comfortably to Jerusalem; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”The voice of one who calls out,“ Prepare the way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.Yahweh’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”The voice of one saying,“ Cry!” One said,“ What shall I cry?”“ All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah,“ Behold, your God!”Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.

and speak to him, saying,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build Yahweh’s temple;

Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from among you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying,“ Let me not hear again Yahweh my God’s voice, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”Yahweh said to me,“ They have well said that which they have spoken.I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

For Moses indeed said to the fathers,‘ The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days.

He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”

For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me.

Behold, my servant will deal wisely. He will be exalted and lifted up, and will be very high.Just as many were astonished at you— his appearance was marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men—so he will cleanse many nations. Kings will shut their mouths at him; for they will see that which had not been told them, and they will understand that which they had not heard.Who has believed our message? To whom has Yahweh’s arm been revealed?For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all.He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he didn’t open his mouth.He was taken away by oppression and judgment. As for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his offspring. He will prolong his days and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.Therefore I will give him a portion with the great. He will divide the plunder with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.Then I said,“ Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll.I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart.”

For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.Then I said,“ I will not feed you. That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let those who are left eat each other’s flesh.”I took my staff Favor, and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples.It was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that listened to me knew that it was Yahweh’s word.I said to them,“ If you think it best, give me my wages; and if not, keep them.” So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.Yahweh said to me,“ Throw it to the potter, the handsome price that I was valued at by them!” I took the thirty pieces of silver, and threw them to the potter, in Yahweh’s house.

A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist.The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them.The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox.The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.

The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

“ Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”

I will set up one shepherd over them, and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.

“ Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer; in the night season, and am not silent.But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel.Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted, and you delivered them.They cried to you, and were delivered. They trusted in you, and were not disappointed.But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,“ He trusts in Yahweh. Let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust while at my mother’s breasts.I was thrown on you from my mother’s womb. You are my God since my mother bore me.Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help.Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is melted within me.My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.But don’t be far off, Yahweh. You are my help. Hurry to help me!Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog.Save me from the lion’s mouth! Yes, you have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen.I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the assembly, I will praise you.You who fear Yahweh, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him! Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel!For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard.My praise of you comes in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.The humble shall eat and be satisfied. They shall praise Yahweh who seek after him. Let your hearts live forever.All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to Yahweh. All the relatives of the nations shall worship before you.For the kingdom is Yahweh’s. He is the ruler over the nations.All the rich ones of the earth shall eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust shall bow before him, even he who can’t keep his soul alive.Posterity shall serve him. Future generations shall be told about the Lord.They shall come and shall declare his righteousness to a people that shall be born, for he has done it.

The Holy Spirit is indicating this, that the way into the Holy Place wasn’t yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing.

In return for my love, they are my adversaries; but I am in prayer.They have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.Set a wicked man over him. Let an adversary stand at his right hand.When he is judged, let him come out guilty. Let his prayer be turned into sin.Let his days be few. Let another take his office.Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.Let his children be wandering beggars. Let them be sought from their ruins.Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.Let there be no one to extend kindness to him, neither let there be anyone to have pity on his fatherless children.Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by Yahweh. Don’t let the sin of his mother be blotted out.Let them be before Yahweh continually, that he may cut off their memory from the earth;because he didn’t remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, the broken in heart, to kill them.Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him. He didn’t delight in blessing, and it was far from him.He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment. It came into his inward parts like water, like oil into his bones.Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself, for the belt that is always around him.This is the reward of my adversaries from Yahweh, of those who speak evil against my soul.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Yahweh, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you.Let my prayer enter into your presence. Turn your ear to my cry.For my soul is full of troubles. My life draws near to Sheol.I am counted among those who go down into the pit. I am like a man who has no help,set apart among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom you remember no more. They are cut off from your hand.You have laid me in the lowest pit, in the darkest depths.Your wrath lies heavily on me. You have afflicted me with all your waves. Selah.You have taken my friends from me. You have made me an abomination to them. I am confined, and I can’t escape.My eyes are dim from grief. I have called on you daily, Yahweh. I have spread out my hands to you.Do you show wonders to the dead? Do the departed spirits rise up and praise you? Selah.Is your loving kindness declared in the grave? Or your faithfulness in Destruction?Are your wonders made known in the dark? Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?But to you, Yahweh, I have cried. In the morning, my prayer comes before you.Yahweh, why do you reject my soul? Why do you hide your face from me?I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.Your fierce wrath has gone over me. Your terrors have cut me off.They came around me like water all day long. They completely engulfed me.You have put lover and friend far from me, and my friends into darkness.

This is that Moses, who said to the children of Israel,‘ The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me.’

Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.He has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. He has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.He said to me,“ You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”But I said,“ I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength in vain for nothing; yet surely the justice due to me is with Yahweh, and my reward with my God.”Now Yahweh, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him, and to gather Israel to him, for I am honorable in Yahweh’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.Indeed, he says,“ It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”Yahweh says,“ I have answered you in an acceptable time. I have helped you in a day of salvation. I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage,

“ Behold, my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights: I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations.He will not shout, nor raise his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice.He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands wait for his law.”

The congregation shall deliver the man slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he had fled. He shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

“ Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.“ Know therefore and discern that from the going out of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Anointed One, the prince, will be seven weeks and sixty- two weeks. It will be built again, with street and moat, even in troubled times.After the sixty- two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off, and will have nothing. The people of the prince who come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end will be with a flood, and war will be even to the end. Desolations are determined.He will make a firm covenant with many for one week. In the middle of the week he will cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. On the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate; and even to the full end, and that determined, wrath will be poured out on the desolate.”

But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and will save them by Yahweh their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”Now when she had weaned Lo- Ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son.He said,“ Call his name Lo- Ammi; for you are not my people, and I will not be yours.Yet the number of the children of Israel will be as the sand of the sea, which can’t be measured or counted; and it will come to pass that, in the place where it was said to them,‘ You are not my people,’ they will be called‘ sons of the living God.’The children of Judah and the children of Israel will be gathered together, and they will appoint themselves one head, and will go up from the land; for great will be the day of Jezreel.

The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to those who are bound,to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified.

Yahweh said to Moses,“ Make a venomous snake, and set it on a pole. It shall happen that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”

All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring, because you have obeyed my voice.’”

Why, when I came, was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can’t redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water, and die of thirst.I clothe the heavens with blackness. I make sackcloth their covering.”The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him who is weary. He awakens morning by morning, he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear. I was not rebellious. I have not turned back.I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I didn’t hide my face from shame and spitting.

Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High.

Save me, God, for the waters have come up to my neck!I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.I am weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail looking for my God.Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who want to cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I didn’t take away.God, you know my foolishness. My sins aren’t hidden from you.Don’t let those who wait for you be shamed through me, Lord Yahweh of Armies. Don’t let those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, God of Israel.Because for your sake, I have borne reproach. Shame has covered my face.I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s children.For the zeal of your house consumes me. The reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.When I wept and I fasted, that was to my reproach.When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.Those who sit in the gate talk about me. I am the song of the drunkards.But as for me, my prayer is to you, Yahweh, in an acceptable time. God, in the abundance of your loving kindness, answer me in the truth of your salvation.Deliver me out of the mire, and don’t let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.Don’t let the flood waters overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Don’t let the pit shut its mouth on me.Answer me, Yahweh, for your loving kindness is good. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, turn to me.Don’t hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily!Draw near to my soul and redeem it. Ransom me because of my enemies.You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor. My adversaries are all before you.Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; for comforters, but I found none.They also gave me poison for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.Let their table before them become a snare. May it become a retribution and a trap.Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can’t see. Let their backs be continually bent.Pour out your indignation on them. Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them.Let their habitation be desolate. Let no one dwell in their tents.For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt.Charge them with crime upon crime. Don’t let them come into your righteousness.Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous.But I am in pain and distress. Let your salvation, God, protect me.I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.It will please Yahweh better than an ox, or a bull that has horns and hoofs.The humble have seen it, and are glad. You who seek after God, let your heart live.For Yahweh hears the needy, and doesn’t despise his captive people.Let heaven and earth praise him; the seas, and everything that moves therein!For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah. They shall settle there, and own it.The children also of his servants shall inherit it. Those who love his name shall dwell therein.

searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, pointed to, when he predicted the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that would follow them.

“ Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,“ that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

Now you shall gather yourself in troops, daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us. They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.Therefore he will abandon them until the time that she who is in labor gives birth. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel.He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God: and they will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth.

Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to Yahweh and to his blessings in the last days.

Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, saying,“ Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:“ Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”I will tell of the decree: Yahweh said to me,“ You are my son. Today I have become your father.Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken,

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

“ I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

“ The Lord Yahweh says:‘ I will also take some of the lofty top of the cedar, and will plant it. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.

“ In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says,“ Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.

He said to them,“ Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me,‘ Where are you going?’

“ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

Then they said to one another,“ Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says,“ They parted my garments among them. For my cloak they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.But standing by Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother,“ Woman, behold, your son!”Then he said to the disciple,“ Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.After this, Jesus, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said,“ I am thirsty.”Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said,“ It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath( for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him;but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled,“ A bone of him will not be broken.”Again another Scripture says,“ They will look on him whom they pierced.”

When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.But God raised him from the dead,and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

and I will shake all nations. The precious things of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says Yahweh of Armies.The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,’ says Yahweh of Armies.‘ The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahweh of Armies;‘ and in this place I will give peace,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”

While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them,“ The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.

“ Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, behold, he comes!” says Yahweh of Armies.“ But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer to Yahweh offerings in righteousness.

“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”

But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall.You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make,” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them,“ The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”

His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in two, from east to west, making a very great valley. Half of the mountain will move toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

and Yahweh said to Moses,“ Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Most Holy Place within the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark; lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat.“ Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.“ Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.He shall take the two goats, and set them before Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting.Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for Yahweh, and the other lot for the scapegoat.Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for Yahweh, and offer him for a sin offering.But the goat on which the lot fell for the scapegoat shall be presented alive before Yahweh, to make atonement for him, to send him away as the scapegoat into the wilderness.“ Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.He shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Yahweh, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil.He shall put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the covenant, so that he will not die.He shall take some of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.“ Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat.He shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting that dwells with them in the middle of their uncleanness.No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.“ He shall go out to the altar that is before Yahweh and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull’s blood, and some of the goat’s blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.

“ Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,“ that I will perform that good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and concerning the house of Judah.

He took the twelve aside, and said to them,“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.

“ It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions.And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days, I will pour out my Spirit.I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke.The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.It will happen that whoever will call on Yahweh’s name shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as Yahweh has said, and among the remnant, those whom Yahweh calls.

He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.

“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.”

I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name. I have kept those whom you have given me. None of them is lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

Paul, as was his custom, went in to them, and for three Sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures,explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying,“ This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me:‘ He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me has an end.”

A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”Some of his disciples therefore said to one another,“ What is this that he says to us,‘ A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and,‘ Because I go to the Father’?”

In that day I will raise up the tent of David who is fallen, and close up its breaches, and I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old;

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”
