那時，希律分封王聽見耶穌的名聲，

她對女主人說：「我希望主人去見撒瑪利亞的先知，他必能治好主人的痲瘋。」乃縵去告訴他主人說，從以色列地來的女孩如此如此說。亞蘭王說：「你可以去，我也會送信給以色列王。」於是乃縵手裏帶十他連得銀子、六千舍客勒金子和十套衣裳去了。他帶着這信給以色列王，說：「現在你接到這信，看哪，我派臣僕乃縵到你這裏來，你要治好他的痲瘋。」

乃縵卻發怒走了。他說：「看哪，我以為他必定會出來，到我這裏，站着求告耶和華－他上帝的名，在患處上搖手，治好這痲瘋。

說：「請把這權柄也給我，使我手按着誰，誰就可以領受聖靈。」

希律分封王聽見耶穌所做的一切事，就困惑起來，因為有人說：「約翰從死人中復活了。」又有人說：「以利亞顯現了。」還有人說：「古時的一個先知又活了。」希律說：「約翰我已經斬了，但這是甚麼人？關於他，我竟聽到這樣的事！」於是希律想要見他。

耶穌對他們說：「你們一定會用這俗語向我說：『醫生，你醫治自己吧！我們聽見你在迦百農所做的事，也該在你自己的家鄉做吧。』」
