她对女主人说：“我希望主人去见撒玛利亚的先知，他必能治好主人的麻风。”乃缦去告诉他主人说，从以色列地来的女孩如此如此说。亚兰王说：“你可以去，我也会送信给以色列王。”于是乃缦手里带十他连得银子、六千舍客勒金子和十套衣裳去了。他带着这信给以色列王，说：“现在你接到这信，看哪，我派臣仆乃缦到你这里来，你要治好他的麻风。”

乃缦却发怒走了。他说：“看哪，我以为他必定会出来，到我这里，站着求告耶和华—他上帝的名，在患处上摇手，治好这麻风。

说：“请把这权柄也给我，使我手按着谁，谁就可以领受圣灵。”

希律分封王听见耶稣所做的一切事，就困惑起来，因为有人说：“约翰从死人中复活了。”又有人说：“以利亚显现了。”还有人说：“古时的一个先知又活了。”希律说：“约翰我已经斩了，但这是什么人？关于他，我竟听到这样的事！”于是希律想要见他。

耶稣对他们说：“你们一定会用这俗语向我说：‘医生，你医治自己吧！我们听见你在迦百农所做的事，也该在你自己的家乡做吧。’”
