那時，分封的王希律聽見耶穌的名聲，

她對主母說：「巴不得我主人去見撒馬利亞的先知，必能治好他的大痲瘋。」乃縵進去，告訴他主人說，以色列國的女子如此如此說。亞蘭王說：「你可以去，我也達信於以色列王。」於是乃縵帶銀子十他連得，金子六千舍客勒，衣裳十套，就去了；且帶信給以色列王，信上說：「我打發臣僕乃縵去見你，你接到這信，就要治好他的大痲瘋。」

乃縵卻發怒走了，說：「我想他必定出來見我，站着求告耶和華－他神的名，在患處以上搖手，治好這大痲瘋。

說：「把這權柄也給我，叫我手按着誰，誰就可以受聖靈。」

分封的王希律聽見耶穌所做的一切事，就游移不定；因為有人說：「是約翰從死裏復活」；又有人說：「是以利亞顯現」；還有人說：「是古時的一個先知又活了。」希律說：「約翰我已經斬了，這卻是甚麼人？我竟聽見他這樣的事呢？」就想要見他。

耶穌對他們說：「你們必引這俗語向我說：『醫生，你醫治自己吧！我們聽見你在迦百農所行的事，也當行在你自己家鄉裏』」；
