那时，分封的王希律听见耶稣的名声，

她对主母说：“巴不得我主人去见撒玛利亚的先知，必能治好他的大麻风。”乃缦进去，告诉他主人说，以色列国的女子如此如此说。亚兰王说：“你可以去，我也达信于以色列王。”于是乃缦带银子十他连得，金子六千舍客勒，衣裳十套，就去了；且带信给以色列王，信上说：“我打发臣仆乃缦去见你，你接到这信，就要治好他的大麻风。”

乃缦却发怒走了，说：“我想他必定出来见我，站着求告耶和华他神的名，在患处以上摇手，治好这大麻风。

说：“把这权柄也给我，叫我手按着谁，谁就可以受圣灵。”

分封的王希律听见耶稣所做的一切事，就游移不定；因为有人说：“是约翰从死里复活”；又有人说：“是以利亚显现”；还有人说：“是古时的一个先知又活了。”希律说：“约翰我已经斩了，这却是什么人？我竟听见他这样的事呢？”就想要见他。

耶稣对他们说：“你们必引这俗语向我说：‘医生，你医治自己吧！我们听见你在迦百农所行的事，也当行在你自己家乡里’”；
