分封王希律听说了所发生的这一切，就感到困惑，因为有些人说：“约翰从死人中复活了。”也有些人说：“以利亚显现了。”还有些人说：“古时候的一位先知复活了。”但希律却说：“我已经砍了约翰的头，而这个人又是谁呢？我竟听到关于他这样的事！”于是希律就想要见他。

耶稣对他们说：“你们一定会用这句谚语对我说：‘医生啊，使你自己痊愈吧！’，‘我们听见在迦百农所发生的事，你在你的家乡这里也应该做！’”
