But they insisted,“ He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

But they kept it up. They said,“ His teaching stirs up the people all over Judea. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

But they were urgent, saying,“ He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee even to this place.”

Then they became insistent.“ But he is causing riots by his teaching wherever he goes— all over Judea, from Galilee to Jerusalem!”

But they kept on insisting, saying,“ He is stirring up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee, as far as this place!”

But they were the more fierce, saying,“ He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.”

But they were the more urgent, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judæa, and beginning from Galilee even unto this place.

But they kept insisting,“ He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where He started even to here.”

And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.

But they persisted in saying,“ He incites the people by teaching throughout all Judea. It started in Galilee and ended up here!”

But they insisted, saying,“ He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.”

After John was arrested, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God:

Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. He found Philip and told him,“ Follow me.”

Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

“ You aren’t from Galilee too, are you?” they replied.“ Investigate and you will see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”[ The earliest mss do not include 7:53– 8:11.][

They yelled at the top of their voices, covered their ears, and together rushed against him.

Others said,“ This is the Messiah.” But some said,“ Surely the Messiah doesn’t come from Galilee, does he?

They shouted,“ Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them,“ Should I crucify your king?”“ We have no king but Caesar!” the chief priests answered.

When they heard this, they were enraged and wanted to kill them.

When the dispute became violent, the commander feared that Paul might be torn apart by them and ordered the troops to go down, take him away from them, and bring him into the barracks.

I am surrounded by lions; I lie down among devouring lions— people whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.

When he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee.He left Nazareth and went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, along the road by the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.

When they heard these things, they were enraged and gnashed their teeth at him.

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”

For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has closed in on me; they pierced my hands and my feet.

Those who hate me without cause are more numerous than the hairs of my head; my deceitful enemies, who would destroy me, are powerful. Though I did not steal, I must repay.

Many bulls surround me; strong ones of Bashan encircle me.They open their mouths against me— lions, mauling and roaring.

Then Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the entire vicinity.He was teaching in their synagogues, being praised by everyone.

You know the events that took place throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached:

When he left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him fiercely and to cross-examine him about many things;

But they kept up the pressure, demanding with loud voices that he be crucified, and their voices won out.
