He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,save yourself, and come down from the cross!”So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying,“ He saved others; he cannot save himself.Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.

He is the King of Israel; let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him. For he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

I have become the laughingstock of all peoples, the object of their taunts all day long.

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;“ He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”
