For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

因為在有汁水的樹上、他們既作了這些事，在枯乾的樹上、會怎麼樣呢？』

他們在樹木青綠的時候尚且做這些事，那麼在它枯萎的時候，還會發生什麼呢？」

蓋木之青者猶如此、枯者將若何、

蓋木尚青、猶如此、木既枯、將若何、

蓋木之青者猶如此、則枯者將若何、○

蓋青木尚遭此厄、枯木又將如何？』

For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

People do these things when trees are green. So what will happen when trees are dry?”

For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

For if these things are done when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?And if a righteous person is saved with difficulty, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?

If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

His winnowing shovel is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn. But the chaff he will burn with fire that never goes out.”

“ Son of man, how does the wood of the vine, that branch among the trees of the forest, compare to any other wood?Can wood be taken from it to make something useful? Or can anyone make a peg from it to hang things on?In fact, it is put into the fire as fuel. The fire devours both of its ends, and the middle is charred. Can it be useful for anything?Even when it was whole it could not be made into a useful object. How much less can it ever be made into anything useful when the fire has devoured it and it is charred!”Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says,“ Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire as fuel, so I will give up the residents of Jerusalem.I will turn against them. They may have escaped from the fire, but it will still consume them. And you will know that I am the LORD when I turn against them.

and say to the forest there,‘ Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to ignite a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree and every dry tree in you. The blazing flame will not be extinguished, and every face from the south to the north will be scorched by it.Then all humanity will see that I, the LORD, have kindled it. It will not be extinguished.’”

If the righteous will be repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and sinful.

For I am already bringing disaster on the city that bears my name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth. This is the declaration of the LORD of Armies.’

After those sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the coming ruler will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed.

and say to it,‘ This is what the LORD says: I am against you. I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you both the righteous and the wicked.Since I will cut off both the righteous and the wicked, my sword will therefore come out of its sheath against all humanity from the south to the north.

But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is worthless and about to be cursed, and at the end will be burned.

These people are dangerous reefs at your love feasts as they eat with you without reverence. They are shepherds who only look after themselves. They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn— fruitless, twice dead and uprooted.
