耶穌說：「以利亞的確先來復興萬事。經上不是指着人子說，他要受許多的苦和被人輕慢嗎？

你知道我所受的辱罵、欺凌、羞辱；我的敵人都在你面前。辱罵刺傷我的心，使我憂愁。我指望有人體恤，卻沒有一個；指望有人安慰，卻找不着一個。

總督的兵把耶穌帶進總督府，把全營的兵都聚集在耶穌那裏。他們脫了他的衣服，穿上一件朱紅色的袍子，用荊棘編了冠冕，戴在他頭上，拿一根蘆葦稈放在他右手裏，跪在他面前，戲弄他，說：「萬歲，猶太人的王！」他們又向他吐唾沫，拿蘆葦稈打他的頭。

他被藐視，被人厭棄；多受痛苦，常經憂患。他被藐視，好像被人掩面不看的一樣，我們也不尊重他。

希律和本丟‧彼拉多，同外邦人和以色列民，果然在這城裏聚集，要攻打你所膏的聖僕耶穌，做了你手和你旨意所預定必成就的事。

耶穌出來，戴着荊棘冠冕，穿着紫袍。彼拉多對他們說：「看哪，這個人！」

救贖主－以色列的聖者耶和華對那被人藐視、本國憎惡、統治者奴役的如此說：「君王看見就站起來，領袖也要下拜；這都是因信實的耶和華，因揀選你的以色列的聖者。」

但我是蟲，不是人，被眾人羞辱，被百姓藐視。

又蒙着他的眼，問他：「你說預言吧！打你的是誰？」他們還用許多別的話辱罵他。
