Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole Roman cohort to Him.And they stripped Him and put a red cloak on Him.And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying,“ Hail, King of the Jews!”And they spit on Him, and took the reed and beat Him on the head.

He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.

For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,to do whatever Your hand and purpose predestined to occur.
