During His earthly life, He offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the One who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

They dropped me alive into a pit and threw stones at me.Water flooded over my head, and I thought: I’m going to die!I called on Your name, Yahweh, from the depths of the Pit.You hear my plea: Do not ignore my cry for relief.

He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything?

SelahWill Your faithful love be declared in the grave, Your faithfulness in Abaddon?Will Your wonders be known in the darkness or Your righteousness in the land of oblivion?But I call to You for help, Lord; in the morning my prayer meets You.Lord, why do You reject me? Why do You hide Your face from me?From my youth, I have been afflicted and near death. I suffer Your horrors; I am desperate.Your wrath sweeps over me; Your terrors destroy me.They surround me like water all day long; they close in on me from every side.You have distanced loved one and neighbor from me; darkness is my only friend.

“ Now My soul is troubled. What should I say— Father, save Me from this hour? But that is why I came to this hour.

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He turned to me and heard my cry for help.He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my steps secure.He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.
