On reaching the place, he said to them,“ Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”

With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak– that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel,

Remain here and stay awake with me.”Going a little farther, he threw himself down with his face to the ground and prayed,“ My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me! Yet not what I will, but what you will.”Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. He said to Peter,“ So, couldn’t you stay awake with me for one hour?Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”He went away a second time and prayed,“ My Father, if this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will must be done.”He came again and found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open.So leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same thing once more.Then he came to the disciples and said to them,“ Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is approaching, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.Get up, let us go. Look! My betrayer is approaching!”

And they did not know what to tell him.He came a third time and said to them,“ Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough of that! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.Get up, let us go. Look! My betrayer is approaching!”

even because of the extraordinary character of the revelations. Therefore, so that I would not become arrogant, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to trouble me– so that I would not become arrogant.I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me.But he said to me,“ My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And do not lead us into temptation.”

Moreover, keep me from committing flagrant sins; do not allow such sins to control me. Then I will be blameless, and innocent of blatant rebellion.

Because you have kept my admonition to endure steadfastly, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

I carefully obey your commands; I do not deviate from them.

Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.Resist him, strong in your faith, because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same kinds of suffering.

Jabez called out to the God of Israel,“ If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!” God answered his prayer.

Direct my steps by your word! Do not let any sin dominate me!

Remove falsehood and lies far from me; do not give me poverty or riches, feed me with my allotted portion of bread,lest I become satisfied and act deceptively and say,“ Who is the LORD?” Or lest I become poor and steal and demean the name of my God.

Sustain me as you promised, so that I will live. Do not disappoint me!Support me, so that I will be delivered. Then I will focus on your statutes continually.
