But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.

But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.

But you must not be like that. Instead, the most important among you should be like the youngest. The one who rules should be like the one who serves.

But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.

Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.

He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said,“ Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”

“ Don’t let anyone call you‘ Rabbi,’ for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters.And don’t address anyone here on earth as‘ Father,’ for only God in heaven is your Father.And don’t let anyone call you‘ Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah.The greatest among you must be a servant.But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Then he said,“ I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.“ And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will. (niv)

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (niv)
