錫安啊，因為我用血跟你立了約，我必將你中間被擄的人從無水之坑釋放出來。

摩西便把盆中的血灑在百姓身上，說：「這是立約的血，是耶和華按所說的話與你們立約的憑據。」

願賜平安的上帝，就是那位憑著立永恆之約的血使群羊的大牧人——我主耶穌從死裡復活的上帝，

這是我為萬人所流的立約之血，為了使罪得到赦免。

祂使我們能夠擔任新約的執事。這新約不是用律法條文立的，而是聖靈的工作，因為律法條文帶給人死亡，但聖靈賜給人生命。

如果立遺囑的人依然健在，遺囑就不能生效。

還有新約的中保耶穌和祂所流的血。這血比亞伯的血發出更美的信息。

但如今，基督得到了一個更超越的職任，正如祂擔任了更美之約的中保，這約是根據更美的應許所立的。因為如果第一個約沒有缺點，就不必另立新約了。然而，上帝指責祂的百姓，說：「看啊，時候將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約，這約不同於我與他們祖先所立的約，就是我牽著他們祖先的手領他們離開埃及時所立的。因為他們不持守我的約，所以我不再理會他們。這是主說的。主又說，那些日子以後，我將與以色列家立這樣的約，我要把我的律法放在他們腦中，寫在他們心上。我要作他們的上帝，他們要作我的子民。誰都無需再教導自己的鄰居和弟兄，說，『你要認識主。』因為他們無論尊卑都必認識我。我要赦免他們的過犯，忘掉他們的罪惡。」上帝既然說要立新約，就是把以前的約當作舊的了，那漸漸過時、陳舊的東西很快就會消失。

領聖餐時，我們為那福杯獻上感謝，這不表示我們有份於基督的血嗎？我們吃掰開的餅，這不表示我們有份於基督的身體嗎？我們人數雖多，卻同屬一個身體，因為我們同享一個餅。你們看以色列人，那些吃祭物的難道不是有份於祭壇嗎？我這話是什麼意思呢？是說偶像和祭偶像的食物有什麼特別嗎？當然不是，我的意思是那些異教徒所獻的祭是祭鬼魔的，而不是獻給上帝的。我不願意你們與鬼魔有任何關係。你們不能又喝主的杯又喝鬼魔的杯，不能又吃主的聖餐又吃祭鬼魔的食物。

因此，祂是新約的中保，藉著死亡救贖了觸犯舊約的人，好叫那些蒙召的人得到所應許的永恆基業。

耶和華說：「看啊，時候將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約，
