After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said,“ Take this and divide it among you.

I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.

Whoever observes the day, observes it for the honor of the Lord. Whoever eats, eats for the Lord, since he gives thanks to God; and whoever does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat it, and he gives thanks to God.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

As soon as you enter the city, you will find him before he goes to the high place to eat. The people won’t eat until he comes because he must bless the sacrifice; after that, the guests can eat. Go up immediately— you can find him now.”

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,since it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.

Food won’t be provided for the mourner to comfort him because of the dead. A consoling drink won’t be given him for the loss of his father or mother.

When you eat and are full, you will bless the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.

Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke them. He kept giving them to the disciples to set before the crowd.

And he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said,“ This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
