有主的一位使者對腓利說：“起來，向南走，往那從耶路撒冷下迦薩的路上去。”那條路在曠野裡。他就動身去了。有一個衣索匹亞人，是衣索匹亞女王干大基有權力的太監，掌管女王全部國庫。他上耶路撒冷去禮拜。他回去的時候，坐在車上讀以賽亞先知的書。聖靈對腓利說：“你往前去，靠近那車子！”

他說：“你們到城裡去見某人，對他說，老師說：‘我的時候快到了；我要到你那裡和我的門徒守逾越節。’”門徒照耶穌的指示去作，預備好了逾越節的晚餐。

今天你離開我以後，在便雅憫境內的泄撒，靠近拉結墳墓的旁邊，必遇見兩個人。他們會對你說：‘你去尋找的那幾頭母驢已經找到了。現在你父親放下了母驢的事，反而為你擔憂，說：我為我的兒子要怎麼辦呢？’你要從那裡再往前去，直到他泊的橡樹那裡，必遇見三個上伯特利去敬拜神的人，一個帶著三隻山羊羔，一個帶著三個餅，一個帶著一皮袋酒。他們必向你問安，並且給你兩個餅，你要從他們手中接過來。然後，你要到神的山去，那裡有非利士人的駐軍。你進城的時候，會遇見一班先知從邱壇上下來。在他們前面有鼓瑟的、打鼓的、吹笛的、彈琴的。他們都受感說話。耶和華的靈必大大感動你，你就要與他們一同受感說話，變成另一個人。這些徵兆臨到你的時候，你就可以見機行事，因為神與你同在。

將到伯法其和伯大尼，就在橄欖山那裡，他差派兩個門徒，說：“你們往對面的村子裡去，走進去的時候，就會看見一頭從來沒有人騎過的小驢，拴在那裡，把牠解開牽來。如果有人問為甚麼解開牠，你們要這樣說：‘主需要牠。’”被差的人去了，發現和主所說的一樣。他們解開小驢的時候，主人問他們：“你們為甚麼解開牠？”他們說：“主需要牠。”他們把小驢牽到耶穌那裡，把自己的衣服搭在上面，扶著耶穌上去。耶穌前行的時候，眾人把自己的衣服鋪在路上。他走近耶路撒冷，快要下橄欖山的時候，全體門徒因為所看見的一切神蹟，就歡樂起來，大聲讚美神，說：“奉主名來的王，是應當稱頌的！在天上有和平，在至高之處有榮耀！”群眾中有幾個法利賽人對他說：“先生，責備你的門徒吧！”耶穌說：“我告訴你們，他們若不出聲，石頭都要呼叫了。”
