Do you think this temple I have claimed as my own is to be a hideout for robbers? You had better take note! I have seen for myself what you have done! says the LORD.So, go to the place in Shiloh where I allowed myself to be worshiped in the early days. See what I did to it because of the wicked things my people Israel did.You also have done all these things, says the LORD, and I have spoken to you over and over again. But you have not listened! You have refused to respond when I called you to repent!So I will destroy this temple which I have claimed as my own, this temple that you are trusting to protect you. I will destroy this place that I gave to you and your ancestors, just like I destroyed Shiloh.

Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. Therefore I will render it filthy to them.I will give it to foreigners as loot, to the world’s wicked ones as plunder, and they will desecrate it.I will turn my face away from them and they will desecrate my treasured place. Vandals will enter it and desecrate it.

If you do not obey me, then I will do to this temple what I did to Shiloh. And I will make this city an example to be used in curses by people from all the nations on the earth.’”

“ Micah from Moresheth prophesied during the time Hezekiah was king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Zion will become a plowed field. Jerusalem will become a pile of rubble. The temple mount will become a mere wooded ridge.”’

And he said to them,“ Do you see all these things? I tell you the truth, not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

then I will remove you from my land I have given you, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and I will make you an object of mockery and ridicule among all the nations.As for this temple, which was once majestic, everyone who passes by it will be shocked and say,‘ Why did the LORD do this to this land and this temple?’Others will then answer,‘ Because they abandoned the LORD God of their ancestors, who led them out of Egypt. They embraced other gods whom they worshiped and served. That is why he brought all this disaster down on them.’”

Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed up like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, and the Temple Mount will become a hill overgrown with brush!

They brought forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.For we have heard him saying that Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

How dare you claim the LORD’s authority to prophesy such things! How dare you claim his authority to prophesy that this temple will become like Shiloh and that this city will become an uninhabited ruin!” Then all the people crowded around Jeremiah.

then I will remove Israel from the land I have given them, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and Israel will be mocked and ridiculed among all the nations.This temple will become a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by it will be shocked and will hiss out their scorn, saying,‘ Why did the LORD do this to this land and this temple?’Others will then answer,‘ Because they abandoned the LORD their God, who led their ancestors out of Egypt. They embraced other gods whom they worshiped and served. That is why the LORD has brought all this disaster down on them.’”

For wild animals are prowling over Mount Zion, which lies desolate.

Jesus said to him,“ Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to wage war; the city will be taken, its houses plundered, and the women raped. Then half of the city will go into exile, but the remainder of the people will not be taken away.
